In his opening for the Senate impeachment trial, Adam Schiff brought up the debunked “Russia collusion” as an argument for why Trump should be impeached. He is trying to bring up literally anything and hope that at least one of them will stick. So pitiful.
Schiff said, “We also took this step with the knowledge that this was not the first time the president solicited foreign interference in our elections. In 2016, then-candidate Trump implored Russia to hack his opponent’s email account, something that the Russian military agency did only hours later.”
It was obvious that Trump was joking about using Russia to find 33,000 emails that 2016 Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had deleted, but Trump was still blamed for using Russia to tamper with the election. The “Russian collusion” turned out to be false, but because Schiff has nothing else to use for an argument, he’s trying anything.
